Crib Bedding Set

About a month ago my sister asked me if I might be willing to make a crib set for her. She hadn't found one that she loved but she found some fabric she really liked. I told her I would be more than happy to make it for my cute nephew.

She bought the supplies and I went to work. It really was a lot more simple than I thought it was going to be.
I spent a few hours trying to figure out how the heck to cut everything out from such large pieces of fabric. After I got that down everything else went pretty quick.
Everything all cut out
On a Friday night, I decided to have fun and make the blanket while Rob was at work. It went super quick and was so easy. Why have I not made more baby size blankets before?

The next thing to be made was the crib skirt. We had decided to just make three panels and velcro them onto the crib instead of trying to attach them. They seriously were ridiculously easy. I loved the way they turned out.
Bumpers

Next, and lastly I made the crib bumpers. These things were a lot harder than they should have been. I mostly struggled because I was nervous to sew directly on batting. I didn't know if it would ruin my machine. I also attempted a new thing and added cording to them. They mostly all worked out but in the end I had to completely throw one away and start over because it was way too wonky. I'm pretty sure I've got it down how to do it for now on though.

I made everything last weekend 3.22.13-3.23.13... I kept texting Kacee about it and I would hear back until I told her it was all done. The next morning (Sunday) I got a text saying she would be in the hospital until Tristan would be born. He was officially born that night. She kept telling me to pace myself and not hurry because we still had at least four more weeks. Ha! He came twenty-four hours after I finished. (More on him later...)

Yesterday I finally got to go up to Murray and meet the little guy. Once the NICU floor was closed, I followed Kacee and Mattie up to their house and we were able to put it on the crib. Luckily everything fit and nothing was super wrong. I was so relieved to see that!!

Now, we just need baby Tristan home in it to make it complete!
